West Virginia University will honor four individuals who have contributed to innovation and had an impact on society through commercialization of their ideas at its upcoming 2nd Annual Innovation Awards ceremony and reception.
The honorees were chosen from among 43 faculty, administrators, staff and students who were nominated for the awards, which recognize innovation in all forms of discovery, creation and production of inventive and progressive ideas, methods and products that promote society’s growth.

The keynote speaker is Wes Bush, CEO of Northrop Grumman. Additional Speakers will be WVU President Gordon Gee and Fred King, the university’s vice president for research. Award ceremony participants will include Gee, King, WVU Provost Joyce McConnell and Glenn Dillon, Vice President for Health Sciences Research & Graduate Education. The event will take place at the Waterfront Place Hotel in Morgantown on Monday, Sept. 22. The Pre-event Reception will begin at 5:30 pm, the ceremony at 6 pm and a reception immediately following at 7.
