West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission

Investing in research improves education, economics

Investing in research improves education, creates jobs and steers youth toward careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) disciplines, all while increasing our society’s knowledge.

West Virginia Science and Research, which is a division of the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, directs the National Science Foundation’s Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) in West Virginia, while also managing state-funded academic research programs, including the Research Challenge Fund and the Research Trust Fund.
