Investing in research improves education, economics

Investing in research improves education, creates jobs and steers youth toward careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) disciplines, all while increasing our society’s knowledge.

The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission’s Division of Science and Research directs the National Science Foundation’s Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) in West Virginia, while also managing state-funded academic research programs, including the Research Challenge Fund and the Research Trust Fund.
